SUNDAY SCHOOL/DISCIPLELAND VISION STATEMENT
The purpose of our Sunday School and Discipleland (Children's Church) programs generally is to provide an opportunity for the children to study the Bible, to learn how to apply those truths in their every day lives, to make friendships with other children and learn how to share their faith with friends and family. The acronym "TEACH" expresses what our Sunday School and Discipleland should be.
T - Teach - We want to partner with the parents of the children in our programs to teach the children the Word of God. (Deut. 6:6)
E - Example - We, as leaders, want to model the love of God to our students and encourage them to be examples of God's love to their friends, family and neighbours. (1 Timothy 4:12)
A - Assurance - We want to encourage our children to draw near to the Lord because the Lord is faithful in all things. (Hebrews 10:22-24)
C - Confidence - We want our children to know that they can confidently come to the Lord in whatever situation and know our God will hear them and care for them. (Ephesians 3:12)
H - Hearers - We do not want our children to hear the Word of the Lord alone, we want them to learn how to apply the Word to their lives so that they can pass it on to others. (James 1:22)
PLAN TO PROTECT (Abuse Prevention Program)
We value the safety of our children, youth and volunteers in all of our programs.
Children and youth are registered in each of our programs. Children ages 0 to 6 years of age must be signed in and out of our programs by a parent. We have a minimum of two teachers in each class.
Our volunteers go through a screening process and have a Criminal Background Check done through the Police Department. They are also required to attend training workshops yearly. We have policies and procedures in place along with supervisors in each of the programs.
WE ARE ACCESSIBLE FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS!!!
Queensway Baptist Church has an elevator which accesses the lower level classrooms and fellowship hall as well as the upper level to the sanctuary.
Queensway Baptist Church also has a wheelchair accessible washroom on the lower level of the building.
Queensway Baptist Church has formulated policies and best practices to serve those with special needs to the best of our ability.
HEARTS IN SERVICE (HIS) SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM
We want all of our Children's and Youth programs to include ALL children/youth that God has uniquely created.
We currently have a "Buddy System" for one child with special needs.
We are currently in the planning stages of a new special needs ministry called "Hearts in Service". We would like to launch this program in the next year or so. Stay tuned!

VISION STATEMENT FOR HEARTS IN SERVICE ("HIS") DISABILITY MINISTRY
The vision statement of the Hearts in Service (“HIS”) Disability Ministry at Queensway Baptist Church is:
All children, youth and adults with special needs were created in the image of God and we are committed to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to them by sharing his acceptance and respect.
Our goals are:
☺ To break down barriers that keep children, youth and adults with special needs and their families from being able to participate in the programs of the church.
☺ To show families of people with special needs that each person is a unique creation of God..
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

☺ To reach out to the community and provide a safe and loving environment where people with special needs can worship God and learn about Jesus.
☺ To nurture each person’s individual skills and abilities..
☺ To provide an opportunity for each person to learn about God’s love in a way that is accessible to them.
NURSERY
Our nursery is available during the Sunday School and worship service (9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) each Sunday. Your children will be well cared for while in the nursery.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our Sunday School meets each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and our year runs from September to May. Our classes consist of:
Nursery (Newborn - 3 years)
Kindergarden/Grade 2 (Ages 4 years - 7 years)
Preteen (Ages 8 years - 12 years)
Youth (Ages 13 years - 18 years)
Adult Class
Spanish Class
There are special theme Sundays spread throughout the year. We also present a Christmas Program involving all ages. Our Sunday School is missions-minded and we have two missions Sundays during the year.

DISCIPLELAND (CHILDREN'S CHURCH)
Discipleland meets each Sunday during the morning worship service (11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) and runs year-round. Children from the ages of 3 to 9 years of age attend this program.
